Before going to university I imagined that I would make many friends as soon as I landed I was ready to live the whole party every night and sleep all day thing. However reality was far from that, especially the first few weeks. I would go to lectures meet people and they would go back to their families back to their old friends whilst I would go back to my box room. The nights were long and the rare sunny days in London were depressing as you are alone and there is no fun on doing anything alone. After a while I found my people a community where I could belong in. But sometimes I wish there was something that could bring people together, faster. Technology now days dictates our lives, and sometimes that can be a negative things as it isolates and slowly kills real human interaction. However if we use technology in our advantage we can achieve many things without turning into zombies. I have recently discovered an app called "Huggle", and what it does, is simply bring people together. You probably think that is another Tinder like app, which it is in a way however is more of a friend finder app.
Being a Londoner it's hard to have social life especially when everyone you know have hectic lives. Sometimes you just wanna try that new restaurant in town or go see your favorite play but your friends are too busy or as much as you love each other they hate theater (my case). Huggle can match you with your new best friend by matching your interests, for instance you both like going to theater and then going for a cheeky drink on a Tuesday, or you both like the same restaurant, or obsessed over pizza. There is always someone who enjoys the same things as you, and huggle can help find that person.
I wish there was an app like "Huggle" when I was a student, but hey is never too late. I will be starting my Masters this October and I can't wait to meet new people through Huggle and go on amazing adventures with them.
No one should ever be alone, especially when you have the option not to. Life is too short. Live life to the fullest and stay on the Edge.
Try Huggle available for IOS and Android.
