The Reality Of Following Your Dreams//Huggle

Growing up I never really been a popular girl, but I always had friends they might not have been 20 or so but they were there. Whenever I wanted to go out or rant or just do whatever an ordinary teen wants to do there was always someone there just a phone call or a text away. Time has gone by, I grew up and followed my dreams, which meant that I had to get out of my comfort zone, move across the pond miles away from everything and everyone I knew. I was ready to face everything. But there is something that no one told me about, I've read many blogs on how to make it in a big city on moving to another country on studying but none of them stated the first thing you come across when following your dreams and that is loneliness. Even though I seem to be an extrovert I am actually more of an introvert but doesn't matter how much of an introvert or a loner you are, you still need people in your life. Having friends, someone to talk is an essential human need.
Before going to university I imagined that I would make many friends as soon as I landed I was ready to live the whole party every night and sleep all day thing. However reality was far from that, especially the first few weeks. I would go to lectures meet people and they would go back to their families back to their old friends whilst I would go back to my box room. The nights were long and the rare sunny days in London were depressing as you are alone and there is no fun on doing anything alone. After a while I found my people a community where I could belong in. But sometimes I wish there was something that could bring people together, faster. Technology now days dictates our lives, and sometimes that can be a negative things as it isolates and slowly kills real human interaction. However if we use technology in our advantage we can achieve many things without turning into zombies. I have recently discovered an app called "Huggle", and what it does, is simply bring people together. You probably think that is another Tinder like app, which it is in a way however is more of a friend finder app.

Being a Londoner it's hard to have social life especially when everyone you know have hectic lives. Sometimes you just wanna try that new restaurant in town or go see your favorite play but your friends are too busy or as much as you love each other they hate theater (my case). Huggle can match you with your new best friend by matching your interests, for instance you both like going to theater and then going for a cheeky drink on a Tuesday, or you both like the same restaurant, or obsessed over pizza. There is always someone who enjoys the same things as you, and huggle can help find that person.

I wish there was an app like "Huggle" when I was a student, but hey is never too late. I will be starting my Masters this October and I can't wait to meet new people through Huggle and go on amazing adventures with them.

No one should ever be alone, especially when you have the option not to. Life is too short. Live life to the fullest and stay on the Edge.

Try Huggle available for IOS and Android.

  8. Aw hunny :/ I know exactly how that loneliness and I have felt it my whole life, it is horrible. When you move somewhere new everything can seem alien and the friends you once had can fade into the background. Sometimes though you meet new friends that you realize are better than the ones you had. Huggle is a great app xxx

  17. I agree, living in London does make it hard.
Everyone is always so busy and it always feels a trek to visit people after work. Despite being in the biggest city.....there are lots of lonely people.....it's bizarre!
