My Morning Skincare Routine

I always been very bad with keeping up with skincare, I would usually buy cleansers and moisturizers and use them once a month yup that bad. But since I turned 25 and got officially in my middle 20s (sad times), I decided to try a bit harder. When we grow older our skin stops producing collagen and that usually results to wrinkles. Even though I graduated from university couple of years I still maintain my student lifestyle(some people never grow up,sorry mom) meaning late nights, alcohol and bad nutrients which has affected my skin, not irreversible though. Last month, I went to a beauty event and I have been told by many skincare experts that my skin is very dehydrated and I needed to start using a good moisturizer and well drink more water, unfortunately alcohol doesn't count as a hydrating liquid.
Few weeks ago I decided to give a go to some of the products I have been given which were called "Amie", I wanted to try the Amie products as they are 95% natural and vegan plus they smelled absolutely amazing.

Gently Cleansing Micellar Water £4.95:
As I have previously said I'm pretty bad with skincare so I am guilty of not removing my make-up the night before well not all the time but it happens sometimes. Therefore to clean any traces of make-up i use the mineral water before I use my actual facial wash. Full of naturally derived plant extracts leaves my skin soft clean and absolutely radiant. It smells like roses, ideal for a spring morning.

Morning Clear Facial Wash £4.95:
Since my skin is dehydrated and slightly oily this facial wash is perfect for it. Morning Clear features elder-flower and may-blossom which helps control oiliness and prevents blemishes. I usually use it after the micellar water for deeper cleansing. My skin is left fresh and very soft and ready for the moisturizer.
Matte Finish Moisturizer £4.95:
I have been on the hunt for a good moisturizer for a very long time, I did find some very good products but they will either be too expensive or take too long to dry. I'm definitely not a morning person so I needed a product that does a good job and dries within seconds, so I can put make-up on. The "Amie" moisturizer does exactly that; the natural sugar extracts hydrates the skin while the bilberry and rosehip nourish and softens. The formula is very lightweight and absorbs quickly to leave skin feeling refreshed and radiant.

Exfoliating Polish £5.95:
Leaving in a city like London where the pollution is very high, using a good exfoliator is vital for healthy skin. This is formulated with rice granules that clean the pores and lift away the dirt leaving the skin cleaner, fresher and softer. I absolutely love this cleanser as it made my skin look and feel much cleaner it also smells like mango and who doesn't love mango?!
Overall the Amie products are gentle and very nourishing for skin all the ingredients are absolutely natural and cruelty free. I have seen a change on my skin only few days after using them, therefore I highly recommend them, plus they are affordable with starting price of £1, perfect for broke students and well broke graduates.

What is your favorite skincare product?

  2. I haven't tried the other products yet but I have been using the Micellar water and it has been quite good at removing my makeup. At first it really irritated my skin and left it feeling tight but my skin is starting to get used to it now. Damn it sensitive skin!

  3. I've never heard of this company before, but they sound incredible! I'm always on the lookout for natural skincare and beauty products. I'll go for anything with rose, too. And fruity exfoliators? Yes please!

  7. Seems that you are taking good care of your skin. I wish I would do that too but with a baby you forget everything.

  9. I actually have this micellar water and I love it. I never used to wash my skin when I was in my teens but I've noticed with coming into my 20s that its a must!

  10. Today out shopping I realized that I have used the Clinique 3 step Program for FOURTEEN years! I feel so old. But also realize it cannot be doing much for me as my naturally acne prone skin never truly settles so I've purchased La Roche-Posay Effaclar and hope o use that for a while! I just bought micellar water last week too and like how it takes off my make up! Definitely try to stick to something for a bit though or you'll never find what's causing this and that!

  11. The Exfoliating Polish sounds very intriguing. I have never heard of an exfoliating product that utilizes rice as the exfoliating ingredient! Very interesting!

  12. I could probably use the exfoliating polish right about now. Over the weekend I got a little sunburned.

  15. I, too, have not been taking care of my sin the way I should. I don't even remember to lotion sometimes, so I have super dry skin. Lately, I've been trying to start a routine and stick to it, but it hasn't worked so far.

  19. I'm 44, and it probably sounds like bragging, but it's the truth - most people are surprised when I tell them my age. They think I'm in my early to mid-30s. I believe it's because, at around your age, I started habitually taking care of my skin. I've actually gotten worse about it in the last year! Hopefully, I'm just going through a lazy spell! Washing your face at night is probably even more important than washing it in the morning. Consider adding an eye cream too! I use one at night and in the morning. That skin is very thin and prone to wrinkles

  33. I've always used Simple's moisturising range and find that it does the trick. I usually use their face wash too but I'm currently using a L'Oreal daily exfoliating wash as my skin has gone crazy after giving birth!
