My Icebar Experience

As a city girl and a proud Londoner I always loved discovering new places to go to. One of my most wanted place to go was the Ice bar, I wanted to go there since I moved to London, but I never quite made  it. When I got invited for the #bloggersbelowzero event at the Icebar, I literally screamed from excitement, finally the day well night to be exact has come #yaaas
The event took place on a Monday which was good, as it kinda broke the whole it's "Monday I wanna die" kind of vibe, I had something more to look forward than waking up at 6am, so ya see not all Mondays are bad.  Icebar is located at the heart of London in the fancy Heddon Street between Oxford Circus and Picadilly Circus.

As soon as I arrived, I got a warm welcome from the amazing staff ,and the rest of the bloggers. At first we were at the warm cocktail bar where we were offered delicious canapes and cocktails as a foodie and a borderline alcoholic I was in my element #justsaying, I mean who doesn't love cocktails?!

Tom the marketing manager gave a little speech about the ice bar itself and won us over with his understanding about the blogging community since he is a writer himself. After the speeches it was time to enter the icebar,  I was so excited to finally get in the icebar,I forgot about the below zero temperature, yup im one of those annoying people who are always cold.
On the door we were given a thermal cape that looked like a poncho and gloves to wear, we looked like little Eskimos with lipstick on, loved it! As soon as I got in I was intrigued by every little detail, as everything inside is made out of crystal clear ice harvested from Torne River in Northern Sweden and designed by skilled by sculptors and ice designers. I love novelty and icebar is all about novelty and creativity. Apparently there is a different theme every year, this year the theme was "Rock N Roll" as a rock chick I loved it.
There were guitars, skulls and of course they were all made of ice too, even the glasses were made of ice, I was scared that my lips will stick in it but they didn't it. Even the menu had a rock theme, all the drinks were named after iconic rock songs. My choice of cocktail was Rebel Rebel and it was delish.

We were only allowed to stay at the icebar for 40min and I can proudly say that I made it till the end. The Icebar is definitely a unique experience, everyone should go there at least once. I cannot wait to go there again.
Special thanks to Tom for having us and Lauren from blondedivision for organizing the event.

  2. I'm also always cold. Blankets are my best friends. This, however, looks like it's worth the chill!

  12. I was invited to the event too but sadly could not attend but it looks like you had a good time. Sadly my friend said that it did not exceed her expectations and she said it was too cold lol. I am always happy to try things once though!

  14. It does look wonderful but I think it was very, very cold inside. I really like the ice glass, it looks like there is a glass inside another glass but I know it's just the cocktail inside ice. :)
